Not bad
Pretty good little B movie. Plot typical of 1930's oil field movies (I have grown to like them) about investor deciding to take advantage of Independent oil man close to bringing in well. Nothing special, but well executed with relatively good acting. Production values about par for B movie. Looks like it was shot on location in and around Porterville, CA.

Oil Raider enjoyed the movie very much
Was always a fan of Buster Crabbe, and this early movie in which he starred does not disappoint. My only complaint was that (and if you watch the movie you see) the role of the telephone operator and love interest lady should have been reversed. Was put off by the Brooklyn accent of the latter. The other lady, she was a dollface!

Unusual Oil Country
I was watching this semi captivating old movie when I realized the Porterville they are talkiing about is just down the road from me. Porterville California. The old Rae Hotel i think thats how its spelled was still around when I was a kid.. Did not know Buster Crab was in the neighborhood. Not a bad movie

Battling roughneck vs. conniving financier
A typical low-budget western, but without cowboys, horses or six-shooters. Wildcatter Buster Crabbe fights to save his well from being taken over. Not great, but there are a few exciting moments. If you like B-westerns you probably won't be disappointed by this petroleum-based mini-adventure. The soft print is complete except for the missing title card and credits. Good audio.
PRIMARY CAST: Buster Crabbe, Gloria Shea, George Erving, Max Wagner, Emmett Vogan
